Since the day Laura emailed her registration form I knew she had a vision of her wedding. She wanted to have her friends and family be part of the ceremony and share with her and Peter their words of wisdom in love and marriage. They also had a candle ceremony in which their daughter became part of the family. This was a very touching ceremony.
The setting for the ceremony was in a private garden, overlooking the ocean. There was a cocktail hour on the beach where everyone mingled and joined in to take Polaroids of each other for their guestbook while Mariachi played traditional Mexican music.
The dinner reception was under a giant thatch roof restaurant where people danced to a great salsa band.
I hope we conveyed to you sufficiently our gratitude while we were still in Akumal, so that you weren't wondering all this time how we felt. As I'm sure you know, we absolutely loved our wedding! And we owe all the wonderful details - large and small - to your excellent ideas and planning. Everything was truly wonderful. And, best of all, we had so much fun!
I have been meaning to send you a note ever since the day we got back. But honestly, my life didn't slow down sufficiently (mostly work-related) until just about now - the day before thanksgiving. So, it is appropriate to give you thanks today (and apologize for the long delay). Thank you, thank you, thank you!
But everything came together so nicely during the wedding day. And all our friends and family had an amazing time in Akumal. Several of our friends have already told us that they are planning new trips to visit again soon.
